Thomas D. Griffin, MD., FAAD, FACP
Thomas D. Griffin, MD completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame in 1975 and went on to graduate medical school at Jefferson Medical College in 1980. After completing Dermatology and Pathology residencies at Temple University, Dr. Griffin achieved triple board certification in Dermatology, Dermatopathology, and Pathology. He has served as President of The Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery and the Dermatology branch of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia. Dr. Griffin currently holds teaching appointments at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, PCOM, and Drexel School of Medicine.
In his 25 years of practicing Dermatology and Dermatopathology, Dr. Griffin has amassed a significant amount of unparalleled experience. Dr. Griffin takes a special interest in the human hair growth cycle and developing effective solutions to combat hair loss and promote hair growth. Dr. Griffin has been treating pattern and genetic hair loss in men and women throughout his entire career both surgically and non-surgically. His in-depth knowledge of underlying pathology of skin disease is significant in the treatment of hair loss of all types.
As an innovator in the field of hair replacement surgery, Dr. Griffin is responsible for the culmination and development of Griffin Hair Restoration Center of Philadelphia. Dr. Griffin recently introduced the latest advance in hair replacement technology, ARTAS robotic hair transplantation, to the Institute. It is the first of its kind in the entire region. Robotic technology has been shown to be the most efficient way to harvest hair follicles for transplantation. Dr. Griffin considers hair replacement to be an art form and prides himself in being able to create a natural appearance which will last a lifetime.
